Writing Short Blog Posts: A Brief Summary

The written word is a powerful form of communication. The fabulous medium of composing your thoughts into words is found while expressing yourself and share your knowledge with others. For this reason books are composed in digital and print form, blogs are written typically as long, resourced-filled posts. But, what if you are short on time and can not write? Then, short effectively written posts are a great answer.

The power in a short post can be effective for grabbing your readers attention. For example, look at advertising without addressing the power of colors used as that is a whole other subject. 1. Main Point: At any length, your posts should have a singular purpose for your readers to explore. All sentences have a subject as a cornerstone. And, should your blog post? Absolutely! So, this should be your first challenge to conquer.

2. Argument: Your main point need to have evidence that supports it while not being snappy or rude. Back up the idea that you present with logical statements to further fortify your main point. You are merely proving the logic in your statements are accurate and pertinent.

3. Structure: Having a solid structure to your short posts is important. By opening your posts by cutting to the chase and getting right to the point in you first few sentences, you lead your readers into your argument using your supporting ideas. Then, go right to the main argument about why your idea is still correct using a conclusion that isn’t wordy, yet summarizes your main point one more time.

By following these strategies-introducing your main point, qualifying it with your argument, and having solid structure- writing short posts will allow your followers and subscribers to digest your main point within a brief period of time.
